Troubleshooting Intune software installs

Summary

This document provides some ways you can self-troubleshoot automated software installations.

When has it been too long waiting for an install

If your installation has not appeared within about 4 hours, it is probably having trouble.  Here are some steps you can take to possible free it up before contacting support.  

  1. Reboot your machine.  If there are pending windows updates or patches, or a previous installation is requiring a reboot, it will stop any new software from being installed.  Rebooting also forces your machine to check-in again.
  2. Make sure any Windows patches and updates have been installed.
  3. Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
  4. Make sure your computer is not "going to sleep" quickly.  


If all this fails

We will be adding more things to check as we go.  If none of these work, please reply to any of the emails about your install and it will re-open the ticket with Deskside Support.
